Extraction (2020) is an American action-English thriller directed by Sam Hargrave and written by screenwriter Joe Russo. It is based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando Leon Gonzalez and Eric Skillman. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi, Priyanshu Painyuli, and David Harbor. The plot follows a black operations mercenary who must rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian drug trafficker in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Extraction: The movie was released on April 24, 2020, on Netflix. He received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Hemsworth and Hooda’s performances and the work of specialists but lamented the weak history and excessive violence.
Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a black market mercenary and former soldier in the Australian Air Service Special Regiment, is recruited by fellow mercenary Nik Khan (Golshifteh Farahani) to rescue Ovi Mahajan Jr. (Rudhraksh Jaiswal), the son of India’s biggest drug lord. Ovi Mahajan Sr. (Pankaj Tripathi), from Dhaka, Bangladesh, because the largest drug trafficker in Bangladesh, Amir Asif (Priyanshu Painyuli), is holding him as a ransom.
While Rake is in the process of extracting Ovi from his kidnappers, Saju (Randeep Hooda), a former Special Forces soldier and Ovi’s father’s main henchman, kills Rake’s teammates and attempts to bring the boy from He returned, fearing that his family would be killed. and to avoid paying the considerable ransom money, which neither he nor Ovi’s currently incarcerated father can afford. Elsewhere, Asif calls for the immediate closure of Dhaka.
After escaping from Saju and the corrupt police and elite force, both controlled by Asif, Rake, and Ovi, they encounter Farhad, a boy who wants to prove himself to Amir by killing Rake and his gang of youths. Rake fights but does not kill children. They are later picked up by an old friend and retired former squadmate from Rake’s who lives in Dhaka, Gaspar. Taking the couple home, he and Rake catch up before Gaspar leaves and Rake brings food upstairs to Ovi. The two talk about Rake’s six-year-old son who died of lymphoma. When Gaspar returns home, he reveals that there is a ten million dollar reward for Ovi’s death; all Rake has to do to get an equal share of the money is to let Gaspar kill Ovi. He and Rake fight, during which Gaspar drops his weapon. Gaspar is about to stab Rake when he is interrupted by Ovi, who picked up the dropped weapon. Gaspar charges Ovi but is shot twice and dies.
Rake telephones Saju and asks him for help, forcing them to unite against the police and the elite force to escape Dhaka. Rake diverts attention from Saju and Ovi as the two passes through the bridge checkpoint. Rake returns to the bridge along with Khan’s mercenary extraction team as Asif watches from afar. During the subsequent shooting, Saju is slapped by Colonel Asif, who is later killed by Khan. Rake continues to cover the extraction and is seriously injured in the shooting. He signals Ovi to run towards a waiting helicopter and continues to shoot with the intention of following him. Ovi watches alongside Khan as Rake heads towards the helicopter, only to have Farhad shoot him in the neck. Rake crawls over to the side of the bridge and falls over the barrier to the river. Ovi, Khan and the extraction team escape to Mumbai, India.
Eight months later, Asif is killed by Khan in a restaurant bathroom. Ovi jumps into his school pool and when he comes to the surface he sees Rake watching him.

On August 31, 2018, it was announced that Sam Hargrave would direct Dhaka from a script by Joe Russo. Also, Chris Hemsworth was set to star in the movie. In November 2018, the rest of the cast was established.
Production started in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in November 2018. The next filming took place in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi, Thailand and shooting take in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The cast stayed on Nakhon Pathom. The main production ended in March 2019. The working title of the film was initially Dhaka but was changed to Out of the Fire, before the final title was revealed to be Extraction on February 19, 2020.
